PEACHTREE APARTMENTS POOL
& TERRACE RENOVATIONS

McLean, Virginia

Apartment community updates facilities and adds modern amenities to increase value for residents. Built in the 1980’s, Peachtree Apartments upgraded all rental units and renovated the lower levels of the mid-rise building to provide a community recreation lounge, fitness center, business center, kitchen and restrooms. The modern interior opens onto a renovated brick-paver terrace with fountain and trellis.

The pool house was renovated to increase accessibility and modernize bath facilities. Corrugated metal, wire mesh and stained concrete are used to create a fun and colorful appearance.

SANDY SPRING BANK
BALLENGER CREEK BRANCH

Frederick, Maryland

Mid-Atlantic architectural influences form the image of strength and stability for this regional Maryland bank. This 3,000 sq. ft. building is designed to be a prototype for future branches with traditional design features on the exterior and an open and welcoming interior featuring cherry wood millwork and stone countertops.

Customer-service stations are organized for ease of accessibility while maintaining privacy for both client and bank representatives. Bank tellers and officers have an unrestricted view of the lobby to enhance the personal connection with the bank’s clients and add a measure of security. All of the back-of-house functions are designed for easy employee access without having to traverse the public lobby. NAHB RESEARCH CENTER

Upper Marlboro, Maryland

A state-of-the-art testing laboratory and conference center provides new areas for growth at the NAHB Research Center. The 32,000 sq. ft. building links to the existing administration building to create a campus and the buildings are further linked by matching brick and siding and entrance canopies. The pre-engineered metal building housing the test lab is carefully integrated to the conventional steel frame and brick veneer of the conference center.

Test areas include acoustic lab and hot-box room with 16 ft. tall oversized doors, a controlled-temperature room, a strong-wall for airborne materials testing and a structural slab with integrated tie-downs for racking wall systems. Conference and market testing rooms include controlled lighting, one-way viewing, remote-controlled cameras and complete audio/video recording capabilities. A large viewing room overlooks the laboratory providing clients the ability to view full-scale implementation and testing of their products or systems. Careful planning allows clients to maintain privacy when using the facility without compromising operations or market research participants.
